Ryan Murphy’s next project American Horror Story has been picked up by FX for 13-episodes.

Co-created by former Murphy and Brad Falchuk (Glee, Nip / Tuck) the series begins production in Los Angeles this month.

The series follows a husband and wife trying to rebuild their family after a few setbacks, a miscarriage and an affair, and a change of scenery. But their new house is haunted.

Its cast includes Dylan McDermott (The Practice), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) and Jessica Lange.

Lange plays nosy neighbor Constance, who cares for a daughter with Down Syndrome who knows more about the house than everyone realises.

Also in the cast is True Blood‘s Denis O’Hare.

“Brad and I are excited to be back at FX where we enjoyed such a terrific relationship working with John Landgraf and his team through 100 episodes of Nip / Tuck,” Murphy said in a statement. “Our cast is extraordinary and we can’t wait to get started on production.”

It will premiere in the US in October -Halloween anyone?

  1. I love a good ghosty show. Hope it’s good. Anyone remember American Gothic? That lost the plot after a few episodes but started well. I look forward to this.
