Timeshifted takes win from Nine and awards it to Seven

A week ago Nine's primary channel had beaten Seven's by just 0.1%. But now the record books will give it to Seven.

As if losing Week 35 of ratings week to Seven wasn’t bad enough, now Nine has lost Week 34 in primary shares after Timeshifted figures are in.

A week ago Nine’s primary channel had beaten Seven 21.8% to 21.7% -the first time it’s happened in survey weeks all year.

But Timeshifted data includes PVR viewing for up to 7 days, and it has changed the results.

The final tally in primary channels for Week 34 is now 22.1% for Seven and 21.5% for Nine and that’s where it will stay.

Such shifts happen every week in ratings data, but they rarely change the overall outcome. When there was just 0.1% split between them, networks were very keen to see the end result.

And it could happen all over again.

Yesterday Nine’s primary channel won Week 35, again beating Seven -by just 0.1%.

  1. People may sit and mindlessly watch endless repeats of big bang, but they sure aren’t taping them. Nine gets it’s viewers from people who are channel flicking & looking for something in the background. That is what reality & repeats are for, but people don’t go out of their way to watch such things, improve the quality of programming if you want this to change.
