ABC1 will screen Penn and Teller: Fool Us, hosted by Jonathan Ross, which challenges magicians to perform in front of Las Vegas duo Penn and Teller.
If they can fool them, they win a trip to Las Vegas to perform in their show.
In this 8 part series well known illusionists Penn and Teller throw down the gauntlet to aspiring magicians in the UK to perform their most mystifying trick and fool Penn and Teller.
Las Vegas legends Penn & Teller have no prior knowledge of either the performers or the planned trick. They sit in the audience just like everyone else, watching every move the guest magicians make. And, if any illusionist comes on and fools the professionals they win a five star trip to Las Vegas to perform as the opening act in Penn & Teller’s world famous show at the Rio Hotel and Casino.
Every magician will be performing for high stakes. Whether it’s a grand stage illusion or a tiny trick of sleight of hand, whether it uses tigers or toothpicks, if they are good enough to fool Penn & Teller then they get to perform in Vegas with the iconic duo.
Penn says: “Nothing would give me or Teller more pleasure than to hand over Vegas tickets to someone anyone who has the nerve to stand in front of us, monkey with us, leave us baffled and ultimately blow us away with their brilliance. That would be a dream. We SO want that to happen! Magic is always evolving, with different performers constantly innovating. We believe there are performers out there who can do it so we’ve sent out this challenge. And if they can fool us we’re taking them to Vegas to perform!”
9:25pm Saturday October 1st ABC1.

I’ve seen all the episodes of this and it’s a great show!
I saw some of this on youtube. It is interesting, as magic is fun.
The one thing is, what are some of the magicians thinking? How did they ever think they’d fool them? They do tricks that anyone with a slight interest in magic can figure out. It is cool however how they almost always instantly know how it’s all done.
According to several TV Guides including the ABC’s online TV Guide it airs 9:25pm Saturday October 1st on ABC1 not the 8th.
P&T are always good value. Might plan to be in for this one.

Loved this show when it aired here – and the best thing about it is the absolute love and respect for magic throughout. Magic is allowed to be the star – and there isn’t a celebrity guest in sight!
