Airdate: Survivor: South Pacific

And here comes Survivor: South Pacific returning with two former contestants, Coach & Ozzy.

Ok Survivor fans, you ask, you get.

Survivor: South Pacific will air on Nine from 9:30pm Tuesday September 27th at 9:30pm.

The new season has premiered in the US today and while this isn’t a same day or week launch, let’s not forget there are occasionally pre-empted weeks in the US when Survivor doesn’t play. Or they have that stupid recap episode with new footage (booo!).

Sometimes Nine has been weeks behind but at other times it has played double eps to bring us up to speed too.

This season has been filmed at Samoa once more and it includes two returning contestants and the nephew of Evil Russell. The premiere is 90 minutes long.

Redemption Island returns as the 23rd season begins in Upolu, Samoa with 18 castaways, including returning players Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Ozzy Lusth. Divided into two tribes, the castaways compete in their first immunity challenge, with the losing team sending someone to Redemption Island.

  1. Thank god for this. Ive been waiting for this for ages. And at least 9.30 isnt relatively late either. Yay. Of course they have evil russells nephew, trying to spice things up. If only they’d do another Aussie version haha

  2. No Chance of Top Gear Australia returning. From next week you have New 2.5 men and the Joy of Sets for the same hour which I hope do better than the aimed at motoring meat heads car show and for this coming week Charlie Sheen’s Roast.

Besides what chance did Top Gear have of surviving in any form against your Packed to the Rafters or Winners and Losers?Little to none basically TG was on life support.

  3. Wow Nine is fast tracking a lot of shows for the new US season for beat Seven in the ratings.

So this is the week after the Charlie Roast special, so no chance of TG AU making a return LOL

  4. David, I have always been on your side RE: spoilers being news worthy and needing to report the news once a show has aired. The constant barrage you receive regarding “spoilers” for shows such as Masterchef etc. are unjust, as you are only reporting News that has already aired on Australia TV. Those people need to understand that and not criticise you for keeping up with the trending topics.

The blurb for this article, however, is surely an unnecessary and avoidable spoiler for a show that has yet to air in Australia? I am a survivor fan and I like to keep the suspense regarding casting for each season. Because of this, I avoid news articles or threads on Survivor. I am not, however, going to stop looking at TV websites because of this. To read a casting spoiler in an unavoidable blurb is very annoying.

    1. JJ: Yes it’s always tricky, and you’re right keeping up with trending topics vs. people who have not viewed their PVRs is always treacherous. So too is reporting casting news vs storyline. If an actor is leaving a show, to me that is News. How the character exits is a plot Spoiler. In most cases I would also view the casting of a Reality show as news, unless it has been utilised as a Twist. On those occasions I tend to look for guidance from networks and promos. As you can see here the network blurb is very specific. The news on the returning contestants has already been widely reported and I would expect by the time this goes to air that they will have been very visible in promos too. I hear what you’re saying, but I reckon you have to hear what I’m saying too…..
