HBO and creator David Simon have agreed to the end date for the series set in 'post-Hurricane Katrina' New Orleans.

US drama Treme will bow out after four seasons.

Executive producer David Simon told media that he and HBO have agreed to the end date for the series set in ‘post-Hurricane Katrina’ New Orleans.

The show, which airs in Australia on Showcase, began with 600,000 viewers in its initial US airing, and 2.2 million for the week after multiple showings. In comparison, the premiere of Boardwalk Empire managed 10.2 million for the same total in its first week in 2010.

Shooting began this week on season three.
