Conan O’Brien officiated at a same-sex wedding on his late-night TBS show, as his longtime costume designer Scott Cronick married partner David Gorshein.
The ceremony took place at Beacon Theater in New York.
What’s remarkable about the event is the enthusiasm from the audience for a ceremony which, several years ago, would have been unthinkable on American television.
The episode aired on GEM last night.

“… a ceremony which, several years ago, would have been unthinkable on American television.”
Are you sure about that? Its Conan, he pulls the same crowd as Stewart and Colbert. The only channels that might have reservations would be FOX News and CBS.
Given it only became legal in NYC this year, yes I’m sure about that.
Feels to me that the American media is a lot less sensitive (in a good way) towards same sex marriage. It seems to casually come up a lot and it is not a big deal. It’s been that way since celebrities in hollywood started getting married in 2008.
If America can do it despite their strong bible belt, so should Australia which is more supportive of it.
Thanks David.
Your a sweetie:):):)
Fixed!
With the Conan show rating abysmally in the US, this and going on the road, are a good marketing gimmick.
Shame the YT clip is not working:(:(:(
I was channel surfing last night & saw this.
It was lovely.
Hope they have a Happy life together.
It would be nice to see Australian TV do something similar.
Not holding my breath though.
I saw it last night and yeah, it was cool to see. Although if Conan was still on NBC and not a cable channel would this still have taken place?
