Renewed: Psych

Cable network USA Network has renewed Psych, starring James Roday and Dulé Hill, for a seventh season.

Cable network USA Network has renewed Psych, starring James Roday and Dulé Hill, for a seventh season.

The offbeat procedural in which Roday stars as a police consultant who solves crimes with powers of observation has won another 16 episodes.

The cable network gave the good news to fans first via the show’s Facebook page and Twitter account. Users were given multiple pieces of a pineapple-shaped puzzle that revealed a special message.

The fourth and final piece of the puzzle contained a video featuring Hill and Roday who told fans he needed help getting a brown belt. “Oh, and also, Psych is officially coming back for a seventh season, which is very cool, but I’m kinda working on this belt situation right now,” Roday said.

Currently USA’s longest running series on air, Psych airs in Australia on ONE.

  1. Ya’ll Crazy!!! Psych it all class and has only gotten better with age. The fact that it doesn’t take itself too seriously gives it a really enjoyable feel.

Season 5 was fantastic and I can’t wait to get my hands on season 6. Pierre Despereaux (Cary Elwes) is one of the greatest reoccuring cast members and the twin Peaks tribute is a top 5 favourite ep along with the series 5 Xmas special paying tribute to it’s a wonderful life (though seen through shawns narsacistic style).

I’m so happy that it’s being renewed!

  2. I watched an episode of this for the first time in several years recently, it had certainly gone down hill. The humour was poor and it has clearly run out of snuff. Time to put it to sleep rather than renew it. I feel sorry for Dulé Hill, I’m currently re-watching The West Wing and wow, how the talented have fallen…

  3. Monk went for 8 seasons in total which was also on USA Network. But good to see Psych get renewed, although I think it has slipped in comedic value these days, it all seems a little forced.

  4. I’m so psyched by this news LOL might have some pineapple with my cornflakes!

Now if only TEN had treated the show with some more respect when it first started, I still remember it coming on over the summer and was gone after 2 or 3 weeks. Yes we have long memories.
