@JM Ignoring that fact that more than half of Queenslanders don’t want daylight savings (I’m one of them), this issue would also affect Adelaide (who do have DST) and Perth as well.
Sunrise (IIRC) and ABC1 Breakfast shows both advise viewers it is only live in AEDT areas. However, Seven and Nine last night used the words / graphics ‘live’ without any indication that it was delayed in other states. ABC’s 7:30 also did the same last night (although it was live on ABC News 24)
Queensland just need to get with the times and have Daylight Saving
@Bogues
Perhaps they need to start displaying ‘Live EST’?
@Bogues: Some highlights from this afternoon:
Seven didn’t even show Rudd’s Washington speech in Brisbane on delay: they just simply went to RSPCA Animal Rescue rerun at 5pm and glossed over it at 6pm.
Nine however did the decent thing: aired the Rudd Washington speech live, and expanded on it at 6pm, inc. a impromptu press conference with Anna Bligh on board her campaign bus.
Seven and Nine both showed their specials on an hour delay in Brisbane tonight, and both channels used the words live in their coverage.
False advertising?
Tsk tsk. They have to get this stuff right. It’s 2012 for goodness sake.
Meanwhile ABC News 24 have had non stop coverage from 6pm to 11:30pm (AEST), including showing 7:30 and Lateline live to all markets (the first time I recall Lateline being shown live nationwide)
But will either of them start on time?
Oh and who cares, really this is going to get old very quickly before next week when it might be decided.
I say lock them both in a room and whom ever comes out alive can be PM.
Same thing on 9 but @ 10:40 AEDT
