Susan Sarandon joins The Big C

Susan Sarandon will play a cancer survivor in the series starring Laura Linney.

The latest big-screen star headed for the small screen is Susan Sarandon, to appear in Season 3 of The Big C.

Sarandon will play Joy, a cancer survivor who is using her unique experience to inspire and motivate others.

“She’s another cancer survivor who has used her cancer experience in a unique way trying to inspire other people,” creator Darlene Hunt told The Hollywood Reporter. “She makes Cathy (Laura Linney) question whether she’s doing enough with her own cancer experience.”

Also appearing is Victor Garber, who will appear in the premiere as a foil for Sean (John Benjamin Hickey) when an accidental phone call “leads to a harassing situation.”

The third season premieres in the US in April, but so far GEM has not confirmed an Australian date.

  1. I would hope that GEM (or whoever) would show this much earlier in the evening. It’s much too good to be buried in the silent watches of the night, like so many other shows. Particularly when we’re subjected to repeat after repeat of such things as Big Bang and that stupid Men thingy earlier in the night.

  2. the first two seasons of this show were gerat, and am looking forward to this new season. I think Susan Sarandon is a great actress, and hopefully makes this show some-how even greater.
