Beavis and Butthead are back

Cue the sniggering as MTV re-boots an animated duo for 2012.

Cue the sniggering…

In 1993, Mike Judge and MTV launched a cartoon series starring a couple of naughty boys. Beavis and Butthead aired until 1997 and spawned a film, Beavis and Butthead Do America.

Late last year the animated pair were revived in a new series set in modern day, with a movie review segment and their standard crudity.

The new series begins on MTV next month.

Beginning April 19, Beavis and Butthead are coming back to MTV Australia to unleash upon music videos, Jersey Shore, viral videos and more! Deliberately unintelligent and crude, Beavis and Butt-Head revolves around the high-schoolers’ discussions about TV, heavy-metal music, nachos and trying to “score” with chicks.

MTV Thursdays @ 10pm from April 19.

  1. Beavis & Butthead episodes made in the 1990’s on DVD do have all the music videos removed on rights/licencing reasons. The same fate met the 1997-2002 Daria on DVD release. About 99% of all the original music replaced.

Now that people are now much wiser now then it comes to music licencing now, any DVD’s of the modern Beavis & Butthead episodes will be the same as their TV versions.

And if a new series Daria does ever see the light of day, MTV will make sure that all the music used will be transfered to DVD exactly with out issues.

  2. yeah no where near as good as it used to be , the cutting into huge chunks of MTV shows like Jersey Shore & Teen Mom 2 were just a pain in the ass ..still “watched ” the whole season because it was Beavis and Butthead tho

  3. @steveroderick trust me isn’t not as good as the old ones…. there is actually an ad for Jersey Shore during the show….. and no I don’t mean during an ad break…I was over it after 2 eisodes

  4. really William, cause it may air on MTV here and in the US but its all about the company. its a Paramount title which One, Ten and Eleven have the rights for.
