Renewed: My Kitchen Rules

Seven is already casting for a fourth series of its hit cooking series.

Just three weeks in and Seven has announced a fourth series of My Kitchen Rules.

The news is no surprise given the stellar ratings for the reality series, hosted by Manu Feildel and Pete Evans.

Seven’s Head of Production, Brad Lyons, said: “We are thrilled with the success of My Kitchen Rules. It’s a show which continues to deliver and evolve. Series three has captured the public’s imagination with some amazing twists and characters and it’s a real credit to everyone involved.

“We are pleased to confirm a fourth series – and we encourage anyone who wants a real cooking adventure to apply and show Australia what they’re made of.”

Seven is already calling for potential duos to compete in the fourth season at www.mykitchenrules.com.au

Applications close 1st June 2012.

  1. I think the 2 big differences bewteen mc and mkr is mc is positive viewing and contestants go on to do better things and mkr is negative viewing where they dont go on to do much and are never heard of again.
The fact people are tuning into this in droves just shows aus now more interested in negative viewing where people put eachother down. Which is good news for Upcoming big brother!
    Wise move though by seven.

  2. @Jennome, couldn’t agree more. Whilst I greatly enjoyed the third round of home restaurants this year and I hope they keep it next season, I agree it would be better for the bottom six to cook for the top six so as to avoid the unedifying bitch fest we have just witnessed.

  3. I’d love to see them mix the teams up after the first two round of instant restaurants – imagine cooking with someone you don’t know. The mixed team with the lowest score would then have their two original teams go to sudden death elimination for example. One thing for sure – they do something different every year – but lets hope they don’t push past 4 nights a week – any more than that will be overload!

  4. They might have to change a few things, like maybe the bottom six couples cooking for the top six in the elimination rounds, rather than the other bottom five. While this makes for good television with the well edited bitchiness and dark looks, it’s not very fair when everyone’s vying for a top place, and is open to deliberately marking low to avoid elimination.
