Nine’s AFL Footy Show returns for more mayhem this week.

The long-running show is back from 9:30pm Thursday.

  1. Have you heard anything about whether this will be airing in Canberra at a reasonable hour? In the past it has been shown at about midnight. Will it be shown live on gem or go? I can’t watch the NRL footy show… my IQ drops 20 points!

  3. @ Cameron C I’m presuming he will be a rotating panelist alongside Billy and Crawf

    @ MillerT1 The AFL version generally finishes at 11:15 (in Melbourne at least) but it’s not uncommon for this to blow out to 11:30 or later.

  4. I agree. NRL Footy Show needs to finish at 11pm. The AFL Footy Show finishes at 11pm and it always feels like they cover more stuff than what is covered in The NRL Footy Show. It will certainly help the ratings.

  5. i’m looking forward to another season of this show.

    I just hope that the NRL Footy Show finishes it’s show on time this year (being 11pm), because i want to watch the AFL version in full, but it finishes up late and i fall asleep half way throuout the show. (note: i’m from Sydney and am just a handful of people who watch the AFL show here. lol)

  6. I notice Matthew Lloyd is featured on the ads for The Footy Show, I know that he’s back at Nine after Ten lost the footy rights. Will be interesting to see how they use him.

    As I’ve said here before, I would prefer to see The Footy Show airing a bit earlier (either 8:30 or 9:00), as it does get quite late when it finishes. I think this would help the ratings too.
