Karl takes the Bogie Award
Gold Logie nominee Karl Stefanovic has won the Black Bogie, in a vote by Sydney Morning Herald readers.

Sydney Morning Herald readers have voted for their annual Bogie Awards, an alternative to the Logies.
The categories here include:
Most blatant ripoff of another station’s hit
Most unnecessary personality
Most oddly immobile facial features
and Most effable.
Karl Stefanovic won the Black Bogie (it’s not good to win the Black Bogie).
In the past, News Limited also ran its own Bogie Awards, but this year it remains where it began, as part of David Dale’s Tribal Mind column.
The other annual awards that used to be announced at this time of year were the Fugly Awards.  The Fuglys were brazenly handed out by Dever outside Crown Casino with a milk crate podium and empty chairs representing absent recipients. But in 2009 Brisbane’s Anthony Dever announced via TV Tonight that he was closing them down.
The Bogie Awards may only have a modest number of votes, but they’re still good for a chuckle.

Love the one about canned laughter. All Nine “comedies” Hot In Cleveland, Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls and 2.5 Men. Not one of these is funny and relies on dopey viewers laughing along with a laugh track.
Karl is easily the worst Gold Logie winner in history. Logies isn’t that credible anyway, but the last bit of credibility they had died that night.

Good. It proves to me that last years Gold Logie was rigged by Nine. If he wins or Hamish wins this year it will be the biggest joke of the Logie Awards.
Funny that Grant Denyer was up there in the Most Unnecessary category and Steven Jacobs was not. For years I thought they were the same person.

Karl is so much better than the alternatives of Sunrise and TEN Breakfast. Very funny and also great talent.
I can’t stand to watch him … he always looks so out of place in his morning host role and is so far behind the two boys who host the 9am shows in personality that it is just embarassing!
