Returning: Survivor

At last. Nine has finally scheduled Survivor: One World.

At last.

Nine has finally scheduled Survivor: One World.

It will begin at 10:30pm Tuesday May 1st.

The 24th edition of the reality series strands 18 castaways on a single Samoan beach, where they are divided into all-male and all-female tribes to vie for the $1 million top prize.

Nine’s scheduling is way behind the US, which began on February 15th. So far 9 episodes have aired.

Unless it schedules extra episodes it is extremely unlikely Nine will be able to catch up before the finale. And we hate learning Reality winners before airing in Australia on a reasonable turn-around. At least Seven delivers The Amazing Race within the week of its US screening.

Nine has been waiting for Top Gear episodes to conclude before starting Survivor despite fans asking for it to air on GO!

  1. We have got the same in Tasmania, Big Bang Theory and Kitchen Nightmares! What is going on, don’t tell me that the regional channels are not going to show Survivor, we have already waited too long for it. I am just about fed up with these free to air channels!

  2. Nuh – another episode of Big Bang Theory and then Kitchen Nightmares USA at 11.30 – quality viewing. I can see why they left off Survivor for that!

  3. Getting stressed here in Canberra – just checked the TV Guide and 10.30 on Tuesday on WIN is The Big Bang Theory (a repeat no doubt). Where is my ‘Vivorrrrrr’!

  4. Well at least I appreciate it being on. I’m not a follower of the US TV sites, nor do I need to download a show as soon as it’s gone to air in the US. For all those who download US TV as soon as it happens, I don’t know why you ever complain. Obviously Aussies are going to get it later….

Anyway, my problem is not that we’re getting it late, it’s that it’s on late. 10:30?? I can’t watch that on my current schedule. Thankfully I’m getting a new settop/PVR soon and that will bail me out, but I feel for those people who won’t ever see it.

  5. Channel 9 shoot themselves in the foot again. I’d happily watch their commercials and give them great value for their advertising dollar if it was shown in a decent timeframe.
But this has been neither a good nor a bad season, just ‘ok’.

  6. Very disappointing. I’ve been waiting and feel insulted by this time especially as we all know it won’t actually star at 10:30. 3 channels and that’s the best they can do? And still no new on Fringe which is almost wrapping up in the US as well. It is no wonder people give up and download shows.

  7. Glad to see it’s finally being aired here but it’s just way way too late Nine. Very disappointing job. They should be capitalising on their recent reality TV show success (The Voice, Block, Celeb Apprentice) and airing Survivor right off the back of one of those shows.

  8. I’m glad it’s back … but considering this is Nine, if it doesn’t rate at 10:30pm it won’t be rescheduled or bumped to GO! it will just disappear.

  9. 10.30pm. 10 episodes late. This is why many of us don’t wait for Channel 9. Surely with Go and Gem available there is no need for such a long delay.

  10. 10:30pm? I think they mean 10:50pm! I have watched nearly every season but I think this is just too late for me – both in the time slot and too far behind the US.

  11. well better late than never? Not! This is ridiculous C9, we have no doubt been watching this in ‘other ways’ and it has been a pain for my Survivor radio show not being able to talk about it to avoid spoilers!

  12. Too late Nine. Waiting until it’s 9 episodes in is not good enough. For a reality show you have to fast track. 10.30 on Tuesday too, what’s the point, they should have just fast tracked and put in a decent timeslot on GO.

It’s actually been a really good season. It’s amazing how this show hasn’t gotten old despite 24 seasons.
