Sunrise says don’t sleep out for One Direction

Sunrise was forced to drop a Facebook photo of fans sleeping out for One Direction, amid safety concerns.

UK popsters One Direction is already causing a little mayhem and they haven’t even hit our screens yet.

Yesterday Sunrise was forced to drop a photo of enthusiastic fans from its Facebook album and website, concerned it might encourage kids to sleep-out ahead of tomorrow’s appearance at Martin Place studios.

The photo depicted four young fans already sleeping out, ahead of the boyband’s upcoming appearance.

It led to some viewers questioning the publication of the photo:

@Sunrise to who ever is responsible, it’s really sloppy not to update the news ticker that runs under NBC Today show. Not the first time either. Im currently reading old news. Come on guys!

That’s it sunrise. Advertise get more kids to sleep out in the cold rain I hope you have security to protect them, think about it. Move them on

the homeless dudes will be thrilled to have young girls to talk to. its not school holidays in canberra so if our girls go up there and get on tv-BUSTED! bahaha

After that Justin Bieber frenzy, Sunrise is not taking any chances. On its website it says:

“We are aware that our interview with One Direction will attract many fans so we are preparing with extra security and this advice for parents: If your child is coming down to Brekky Central, we encourage you to join them to keep them safe. This will help us maintain calm and safety for all. Police will also be in attendance. Due to the expected number of fans, it will not be possible for fans to meet the members of 1D.”

After realising the photo was at odds with its own advice to kiddies, Sunrise removed the photo of the 4 fans.
