Where is Class Of?

TEN teased audiences after the MasterChef finale, but there is still no sign of a factual series Shine Australia filmed in 2011.

Last year after the MasterChef finale, TEN teased audiences with a promo for one of its next high-profile shows, Class of 2011.

TEN picked up the Scandinavian format about underperforming students given coaching at MIPTV in 2010 and asked Shine to produce it. Shine began filming the show in early 2011.

But following the showreel, TEN held off screening the show.

In October Shine Australia’s Managing Director Matt Campbell told TV Tonight, “We are very happy with the series we made, it’s up to the network to program it and from what we can see this is purely a scheduling issue.”

A TEN Spokesperson said at the time, “Class Of is developing into an emotional, powerful series and after having seen what we’ve filmed we think it deserves a more considered environment, the start of the school year offers that fit.”

But we have now missed the start of the school year completely and there is still no sign of it.

TEN’s David Mott recently told TV Tonight, “Class of is scheduled for later this year.”

  1. Meanwhile Ten suffer due to lack of content and continue to roll out multiple repeats of NCIS and Modern Family in their schedule, as well as repeating The Devil Wears Prada 25 times per year.

  2. Disappointing that TEN have taken so long with this. The preview (at least from my immediate circle) got so much praise and were really looking forward to the series. I can’t imagine it will now be as successful considering it’s now been almost a year since its preview and didn’t premiere in the opportune moment.

  3. So TEN have next to no content and they have told Shine its a scheduling issue? Give me a damn break here. TEN have probably no faith in it. If this was recorded back in the beginning of 2011 by the time it airs it will be irrelevant.

David Mott seriously needs to go at TEN. I know i sound like a broken record but he is the problem at TEN. He continues to be the one constant in all of TEN’s woes yet he is continually praised for being the “best in the business”. If he was his network would be performing a hell of a lot better.
