The eight stage race will feature Cadel Evans in what will be his final event before he begins his Tour de France title defence later that month. Evans finished second in the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2011 behind Bradley Wiggins from Team Sky, who will also be competing in this year’s race.

  1. I don’t like Sport. Hate it on TV. But I love the Tour de France on SBS. You can invest in it, it’s not manipulative and you get to see beautiful parts of the world with out being rushed about it. Love it, can’t wait. I hope they keep Gabriel Gate’s vingette’s as well they’re superb. Well done SBS! (again) Bring on the Critérium du Dauphiné! Vive le vélo!!

  2. Good stuff. I wasn’t a cycling fan before but watching Le Tour de France with Phil and Paul on SBS has converted me. It’s still really only the tours that I enjoy watching.

  3. SBS has certainly ramped up (no pun intended) its cycling coverage since Cadel Evans won Tour de France and the establishment of GreenEDGE cycling team, both in 2011. This year SBS showed more events than ever before, some on free-to-air for the very first time: Paris-Nice, Paris-Roubaix, Liège – Bastogne – Liège, Giro d’Italia, with Critérium du Dauphiné, Tour of California, and Tour de France still to come. Good news for cycling fans.
