Sweden remains the favourite to take out the contest this year, and as much as I hate agreeing with the bookies, it’s my personal favourite too and currently leads the TV Tonight polling. Loreena has a strong song and gives an utterly contemporary performance (Englebert *cough cough*). Russia could take out as a novelty act. Hope not.

You can vote live for Australia’s Eurovision unofficial winner at www.sbs.com.au: Russia was selected as the winner of the First Semi Final and Sweden topped the Second Semi Final.

The Final running order is now (premiere performances in bold):

1. UNITED KINGDOM – Engelbert Humperdinck – Love Will Set You Free
2. HUNGARY – Compact Disco – Sound Of Our Hearts
3. ALBANIA – Rona NIshliu – Suus
4. LITHUANIA – Donny Montell – Love Is Blind
5. BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA – Maya Sar – Korake Ti Znam
6. RUSSIA – Buranovskiye Babushki – Party For Everybody

8. CYPRUS – Ivi Adamou – La La Love
9. FRANCE – Anggun – Echo (You And I)
10. ITALY – Nina Zilli – L’Amore È Femmina (Out Of Love)

11. ESTONIA – Ott Lepland – Kuula
12. NORWAY – Tooji – Stay

  1. SBS have the broadcast rights, commonsense would dictate they would be the one broadcaster not to usurp thier own coverage?
Wrong, turn the damn TV on and in a rolling tickertape on the bottom of the screen is the winner and then the story on Aljazeera.
About time this was broadcast live.

  2. I found Sweden to be a tad underwhelming in its performance – I love the song but on stage it just lacked that something special. Estonia and Malta would be my other favourites from this semi, but I really really home for the Russian grannies to make it over the line.

  3. @ Brekky You are kidding right? If you thought that was awful, I can’t imagine what you think of many of the other songs. For me, Sweden was really good and the most contemporary of all the songs. In fact, I thought tonights semifinal was of much higher standard than the first one.
