  1. When FX was first planning it’s launch I was excited to see a male-skewed channel to offer something different to what was already offered by other STV entertainment channels, but it has turned out to be just another crime channel. They have Franklin & Bash and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Paul Margaret launching next month to offer some comedy content (even though Franklin & Bash is mainly a crime, it incorporates a lot of comedy which I look forward to), but I just wish they would increase their diversity. Why not TBS’ Tyler Perry sitcoms Meet The Browns (and it’s successive show House of Payne), Are We There Yet?, and For Better or Worse. How bout should FX U.S.’ college football coverage to compete with ESPN Australia as they are currently the only network to show collegiate sports? How bout showing weekly movies, which FX U.S. is based on, and offers competition to TV1, Sci Fi, Universal, and recently Arena have also begun showing weekend movies. I think FX was a brilliant idea, but it just has blended in with every other channel due to Foxtel’s saturation of the STV market – owning 11 entertainment channels, not to mention 5 documentary channels, 4 music channels, and 2 kids channels. It’s about time Foxtel let international companies take back some channels to offer some competition. Sell Arena to NBCU, Bio, CI, History and A&E to A&E International, Nick, Nick Jr and Comedy to Viacom/MTV Networks, FOX Classic to FIC, etc.
