TEN snares The Audience

In this UK format, one person has a decision to make and 50 members of the public will follow them for a week to help solve it.

TEN has snared another new format, this time The Audience in which one person has a decision to make and 50 members of the public will follow them for a week to help solve the dilemma.

The show from the team behind One Born Every Minute is due to air in the UK on Channel 4 (pictured).

Granada Australia will make the series for TEN, produced by Rod Parker.

“I’m delighted Network 10 has secured this commission and look forward to working with them again,” Granada Media Australia’s managing director, Leonie Lowe, told the Sunday Herald Sun.

“It’s a highly anticipated, prime-time series.”

At MIPTV the show was also sold to the US and France, pitched as follows:

In each episode, we’ll meet someone in crisis with a life-changing decision to make. To answer their big dilemma, they open up every corner of their life to The Audience – 50 ordinary people of diverse age and backgrounds who follow them constantly for a week, and draw on their collective life experience to solve our protagonist’s problem. Leaving no stone unturned, The Audience meet friends, family and colleagues to find out where the trouble really lies. Can The Audience bring the wisdom of the crowd to bear for people in need, and change their lives for the better?

Channel Four is searching for people for the UK series asking the following questions:

Are the relationships in your family strained?
Is your business failing?
Are you considering marriage or divorce?
Are you struggling to discipline your child?
Are you unhappy with your living arrangements?
Are you having a dispute with your neighbour?
Are you experiencing financial problems?
Are you thinking about starting a family through IVF, adoption or other fertility methods?

  1. Oh ok. I heard that Seven had this a couple of months back. Must have been a false report from somewhere. It sounds ok but sounds a bit like Q&A meets Can of Worms.

  2. Perfect question for “The Audience” on 10: “Is this television network rating well and making money?” You’d have 50 people follow Mott and Warburton for a week, and find out whats wrong with Ten, from a viewer’s standpoint.
