There will be plenty of Aussie interest in the morning heats, including James Magnussen in the 100m freestyle. In the evening, we’ve got the Men’s 4 x 200m Freestyle relay, who will be hoping to make amends for our disappointment in the 4 x 100m relay on Day 2. Hopes are high for Bronte Barratt after she qualified fastest in the Women’s 200m Freestyle, although she will come under great pressure from the new female superstar of this sport, Missy Franklin.

EQUESTRIAN: Eventing Final *GOLD MEDAL EVENT*

The spotlight falls again on Greenwich Park with the climax of the eventing; the show jumping phase. Team and individual medals will be awarded. Old rivalries come to the fore as Germany and Great Britain look likely to fight it out for gold. The British team will feature Zara Philips, granddaughter of the Queen, who will be attempting to emulate her father’s gold medal in this event from the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Australia may struggle after losing two riders during the cross country section.

BASKETBALL: Men’s Preliminary

The Boomers take on Beijing silver medallists Spain, in a game that will give the Aussie men’s basketball team a very good indication of their real chances in London.

DIVING: Women’s 10m Synchro Final *GOLD MEDAL EVENT*
Women’s: Loudy Wiggins & Rachel Bugg
Tuesday July 31 at 11.55pm – live on LONDON 1
Loudy Wiggins and Rachel Bugg take the plunge as they strive for a medal in the women’s synchronised 10m Platform. The Chinese are still on track to claim an unprecedented clean sweep of all eight Diving gold Medals.

HOCKEY: Women’s Preliminary
Australia v Germany
Wednesday August 1 at 6.05am – live on LONDON 5
The 7th ranked Hockeyroos go up against the 3rd ranked Germany, in a vital pool match for the Aussie girls. The Hockeyroos must win to keep their play off hopes alive after a disappointing 1-0 loss to New Zealand in their opening match. Let’s hope they’re inspired by the Kookaburras’ rousing 6-0 victory over South Africa yesterday.
