The Project hires HG Nelson as Olympics correspondent

The inimitable HG Nelson returns to the Olympics, this time for The Project.

The inimitable HG Nelson has been announced as the Olympics correspondent for The Project.

Nelson (aka Greig Pickhaver), has a track record of covering Olympics in versions of The Dream with Roy and HG alongside Roy Slaven (John Doyle). He recently presented It’s a Knockout for TEN.

During the Games he will update all the action and drama for the TEN show, presenting stories on the atmosphere from London.

The Project and The Olympics is a very tight fit,” says Nelson. “The 14 days of competition will be covered by the P-Team with all the grunt and poke you would expect from Australia’s premiere news programme.

“Personally it is a dream come true to be The Project‘s man in London with a couple of tickets to the 50 metre small bore air pistol gold medal shoot off, an umbrella and a bottle of Pimms No I Cup in the pocket of the rain coat.”

He begins Sunday July 29, 6pm on TEN.

  1. This is good news…..Project is getting a bit boring of late. Some boring stories and getting very sick of everybody laughing at Dave who is a bad performer and really not very funny. Lemo is sooo much better and presents well. HG will be great.

I think the Project needs to complete some current issues specials where issues are tackled in depth in a later time slot. Lets get into more detail about issues that Charlie and Price disagree with. disagreements with Price need to get into more discussion as opposed to a commercial break. Lets get a bit more meaty guys! A project special on asylum seekers would be excellent as both sides have a story to tell.

  2. That is very good news! HG also made a couple appearances on Talkin’ Bout’ Your Generation through-out it’s run. What has happened to Roy? I hope they haven’t broken up as they worked well together. My Sunday afternoons haven’t been the same since they finished up at Triple J.

  3. This is good news. Hopefully Ch7 bring back ‘The Dream’ for Rio 2016 or the ‘Ice Dream’ for Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, that is if 7 get the rights. (hopefully!)
