FOX8 has announced it will be fast-tracking a batch of new and current US shows from September.

They include new sci-fi drama Revolution from JJ Abrams (pictured) and supernatural series 666 Park Avenue, featuring Rachael Taylor.

Also coming are Hart of Dixie S2, Grimm S2, Vampire Diaries S4, American Idol S12, featuring Mariah Carey, and Gossip Girl S6.

From September FOX8 will kick off its hottest new and returning programming express from the US, giving viewers the opportunity to watch their favourite series within a week of the episode being screened in the US.

The blockbuster sci fi drama Revolution, from producer JJ Abrams, and the highly anticipated 666 Park Avenue, starring Australian actress Rachael Taylor, make their Australian television debuts only on FOX8. Both series come from the renowned distributors of Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie and Two and a Half Men, Warner Bros. Television.

666 Park Avenue, based on the novel of the same name by Gabriella Pierce, is set in The Drake, a prestigious apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Owned by the mysterious Gavin Doran (Terry O’Quinn – Lost) and his sexy wife Olivia (Vanessa Williams – Desperate Housewives), The Drake is home to dozens of residents who are unaware they’re living in the dark embrace of supernatural forces. They think their dreams are all coming true, only to find they’ve been lured into making, what feels like, a deal with the devil.

When a young mid-western couple, Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor) and Henry Martin (Dave Annable – Brothers & Sisters), is hired to manage The Drake, they soon discover evil, obsession, and manipulation has a home there.

Revolution stars Twilight actor Billy Burke and is set in a post-apocalyptic future where 15 years earlier an unknown phenomenon permanently disabled all advanced technology and electricity on the planet bringing life back to how it was long before the industrial revolution.

On the fringes of a small farming community a young woman’s life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously and unbeknownst to her had something to do with the electricity blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future.

The upcoming drama from Lost’s Abrams and Supernatural’s Eric Kripke will also star Lost actress Elizabeth Mitchell.

FOX8’s express from the US strategy will include the delivery of new episodes of hit series Hart of Dixie S2, Grimm S2, Vampire Diaries S4, American Idol S12, featuring Mariah Carey, and Gossip Girl S6.

  1. @Mr.J – I just hope Revolution doesn’t turn into another FlashForward or The Event. I like the primes, no I’m not in a cave waiting for this to happen LOL but I just think its fun to see what could happen. Guess it’s why I like Falling Skies so much. But network TV (in the US) doesn’t have a good record with shows like this, Lost was probably the last time it worked and wasn’t on Cable.

  2. 666 looks like a poor man’s American Horror Story meets Central Park West. Can’t see it lasting.

Bring on American Horror Story 2 and Dracula starring the dishy Jonathan Rhys Meyers

  3. revolution screams ‘axed after 3 eps’ but 666 looks really interesting and has a great cast, one of the few shows i will be watching. It is a Warner Bros. show so i guess that means 9 had the output deal and on-sold it. idiots.

  4. Brilliant Foxtel just brilliant. Revolution and 666 Park Ave are surprisingly the only 2 new shows i want to see this upcoming season so good to get them early.

Plus with Seven fast-tracking Revenge and possibly a few other titles as is Nine and TEN it seems networks are starting to wake up a bit.

  5. At first I thought the digital channels may mean the end of Foxtel. But it seems some good shows are now going straight to Foxtell. Shows that would have been seen in a 10.30 slot, a sunday arvo or over summer on FTA a few years back. Sad that they are not accessable to all.

  6. Huge fan of Grimm and Hart of Dixie so this is great news. After YouTub-ing both Revolution and 666 Park Avenue I will definitely give the pilot a go and see whether or not they are worth watching for an entire season. Definitely going to be an aweome season of shows! I just wish that all channels fast-tracked their major programs – such as Seven fast-tracking Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice which premiere next month in the U.S. but Seven leave them until after the Australian Open.

  7. With in a week is fine. Unless the show is awesome and you can’t wait and like to participate in online discussions.

If you don’t then, eh waiting a week is fine.

So i’ll just check these out on Fox8. Glad they’re doing it.

  8. Pretty much all the best or most interesting series, then.

I love the Vampire Diaries and Grimm, and Gossip Girl is still a solid show even though season 5 had some terrible episodes…666 Park Avenue looks interesting enough. Revolution looked kinda lame from the trailer IMO, like Jericho-lite
