  1. i love all these “southerners” that want the NRL footy show axed and the AFL version shown nationally.
Do you not realise that we dont watch AFL up here for 90% of the year (i dont care if the ratings show different… live in the city you will see). Maybe if the swans are in the finals, but in general sydney has 1 “real” team in the AFL to support and the people that turn up to watch that are the diehard members. Apart from that its NRL all the way!! Im not saying the NRL show is any good im just saying showing the AFL show in primetime up here will lead to disaster. May as well show a test pattern….altho that might rate better than the NRL show

  2. The NRL GF Footy Show was the worst put together show on Australian Television this year. The show lacked atmosphere, because there was nothing to clap about. Pity help the people who paid to go to the show. Many were just sitting there bored as the small amount of viewers including myself.

  3. Completely agree. Both Footy Shows weren’t that good last night. This is coming from a viewer who occasionally watches them for the variety elements of the shows. But it is great to see it do well.

When was the last time The Footy Show topped 1.1m nationally?

  4. The NRL footy show was woeful. I’d estimate about 60% was replay of segments from the year. I thought it was supposed to be about the big game. Oh not to mention the betting odds segments. Using current footballers to co host made the show look even more amateurish. Shane Shackleton is not a tv talent. Very awkward and not funny. Pizza eating contest between dogs and storm fans ? The 10 in the bin segment didn’t even last to 10. And to think we have to put up with ch9 nrl coverage for another 5 years. Arghhh.

  5. Man..130k..pretty sad numbers for a pretty good newscast on Sbs.it’s down about 57k from the days of the L&N lead in..though doubt if bringing back L&N would help much now..think the damage done will be hard to reverse. To me the most interesting and confounding battle on Australian tv is between deal and hot seat…deal’s ahead..hot seat catches up..hot seat starts smoking deal..deal comes back, pulling even if not slightly ahead..hot seat starts crushing deal again. You never know what will transpire in any given week between these two..fascinating(to me anyhow..lol).

  6. geez..they are disastrous figures for the top shows on ten.

When was the last time they had over a mill for a show other than Masterchef?

The Footy show was not that great last night compared to previous years. Looking forward to Before The Game tonight. At least BTG give us a laugh!
