On the day all ticket-holders were sent an elusive final clue via SMS, which told them to meet at King St Wharf then boarding a boat to Goat Island. Guests were given martial arts training, watched burlesque and contortionist performances, and a Japanese meal.

They were even given props and costumes to get into the spirit of their ultimate death scene.

“Last night we raised the stakes of World Movies Secret Cinema with our Battle Royale themed event on Goat Island,” said Chris Keely, General Manager of World Movies. “From the location to the film choice and the activities – the response from our hundreds of guests has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s exciting to bring to our channel to life off-screen in such a unique and entertaining way, and we look forward to taking the event around the country in 2013.”

World Movies Secret Cinema was organised with not-for-profit event producers The Festivalists, and is set to visit Melbourne and Brisbane in early 2013.
