Angus T. Jones plea: Please stop watching Two and a Half Men

As if Two and a Half Men hasn’t had enough to deal with over the years, now 19 year old Angus T. Jones has appeared in a YouTube video in which he actively campaigns for people to not watch the show due its “filth.”
And he isn’t kidding.
“I’m on Two And A Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it, and filling your head with filth…. If I am doing any harm, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be contributing to the (Satan’s) plan,” says Jones, who has become very serious about his faith in the past several months. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
Jones, who earns more than $300,000 an episode, goes on to warn people about the impact of television.
“People say it’s just entertainment,” he says. “Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.”
CBS and Warner Bros TV had no comment.

This could actually apply perfectly to Modern Family. A show of greater filth I have never seen.
Watch the clip with the closed captions on. It’s even weirder. It seems that it is an automated process which is way off.
I think people are forgetting that he has a contract, which means that he is legally bound to continue to work on the show unless he’s fired (or is no longer able to work for health reasons). Charlie Sheen probably encouraged him to speak out about the show – it worked for him and he walked away with a lot of money. If Angus quit, he’d be sued for breach of contract. He’s earned a lot of money from the show over the years, but we have no idea what he’s used that money for and how tied up it is in property/investments etc. Clearly, he’s not happy in his job, but unlike a lot of people, he’s legally bound to stay there. From what he’s said, his contract is likely to have some mention of “the natural life” of the show (i.e. it’s not just a season by season arrangement – it’s an indefinite amount of time). Otherwise, he’d just refuse to sign of for the next season.
Creepy. Doesn’t seem to have a problem taking the money each episode.
Whata hypocrite..Is he a born again Christian?..if he so believes his faith, then he should quit the show…I gues the almighty Money God really rules him.
I consider it complete hypocrisy that Charlie Sheen was sacked for his antics (deservedly so IMO) yet they have chosen to turn Jake into a complete pothead. What sort of message does that send?

It may be “filth” Angus (I probably think that word is a little strong). But the irony is, it often mirrors life as we know it now. I’ve known people like Alan ( tight with money), I’ve known people like Charlie (sex adicts), I have a nephew that is just like Jake (not too bright, smokes dope). Although ofcourse I’d prefer this not be the case but 2.5 men does present it all in an entertaining way. I will look up on the effects of television and your brain as a matter of interest . I don’t know that many people like Walden though, wish I did (lol).
If he truly believes his own words he should walk the walk and walk away. What a pathetic human preaching such stuff then turning up to receive his money.
It should of been cancelled when Sheen was kicked out. I wonder if Jones could be sued in some way? It is the USA afterall.
I don’t think Jake will be having any more visits home from the Army base.Perhaps Chuck will have him sent off to Afghanistan to be never heard of again.
At least he’s right about 2.5 men being a crap show -just not because of some crazy satanic reasons.

Apparently it’s not filthy enough to stop taking the $350,000 a week pay cheque though. A liitle bit of hypocrisy there I think.

@chk chk maybe when he started he felt differently or didn’t know what the show was like? Also he was 10 when it started so his opinion & how much say he had in what he did could have changed also. But I do agree, it does seem wrong & ungrateful.
Is it just me or does Angus sound like creepy Reverend Shaw Moore in Footloose? The fact is the show has evolved to a point where Jake Harper is now superfluous and his appearances are almost cameos. Chuck needs to ditch him ASAP. I’m sure Angus will find his way – maybe Kirk Cameron can give him a job.

Oh, how very strange. Maybe he should renegotiate his contract and leave, or donate his salary to charity??? Get thee behind me Jake from 2 1/2 men. No wonder Charlie Sheen left the show, it’s obviously the reason behind his ‘winning’ behaviour.
What I don’t understand is why the show is still called ‘Two and a Half Men’ when Jake is now a man (and not a half) ?
I don’t understand why actors who are paid the most for so little part are the most ungrateful (Hugo Weaving for the Transformers also comes to mind). Why accept the job then if you don’t like it, let others get the opportunity to get paid rather than rubbishing it.
