Nine’s Willoughby station could be back on the market within five years, The Australian reports.
TCN9 station manager Scott Soutar, said the network was seeking a residential rezoning of the property, but had no plans to move in the short term. “It could be two to five years before anything happens.
“It would be sold as the master plan developed and we decided financially it stacked up for Nine to move to a new location, wherever that might be.
“The value of the site would form part of that equation.”
The site was originally on the market along with Melbourne’s Richmond site for GTV9 with Charter Hall.
Tthe original plan for the site was for about 600 dwellings but it had been scaled back after community consultation.

They may have a fight on their hands, locals don’t want rezoning and a large development. Schools and traffic are at breaking point now. Local services can’t support the increase in volume, anyway who’s going buy a property right under that RF tower. I believe it’s not owned by Channel 9 and will stay if the development goes ahead. We don’t want another James Hardie Industries.
