Dexter finale: OMG

Video: Next week's season finale of Dexter will be a must-see for those of us who have been fans for seven seasons.

OMG.

Next week’s season finale of Dexter, aptly titled “Surprise, Motherf***er!” will be a must-see for those of us who have been fans for seven seasons.

Given we know next season is the last, it’s time to start putting the cards on the table.

Meanwhile in regard to the character’s ultimate fate, Michael C. Hall told Salon, “I imagine Dexter is going to get caught one way or the other,” he said. “And by that I mean, can we really expect him, at this point, to walk into the sunset? Or get off without a blemish on his conscience or character?

“In a way, he is already caught,” said Hall. “Once [his wife] Rita (Julie Benz) dies, he is caught. Once [his sister] Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) is in on the secret, he is caught. And what he’s caught by is the undeniable fact that how he conducts himself has an effect on more than just him and his victims.

“As far as whether he goes to jail, or gets put to death, or gets hit by a bus or whatever it might be, I can’t say.”

  1. There’s so many possible outcomes for this show. Despite what some people have said about varying quality, I’ve basically enjoyed every episode of every season.

    Possible outcomes.

He gets arrested and possibly executed.
He gets over his dark passenger and lives happily ever after.
He lives happily ever after as a killer.
His code means he kills himself.
He dies a hero in a brave act and his crimes go never known.
    He was Deb’s alter ego.
    He becomes batman.
Cut to him teaching Harrison a Code.
Deb gets framed as the Bay harbor butcher,
Laguerta gets framed as the Bay harbor butcher,
    Dokes is Alice

Possibilities are endless! Lets hope it’s something well executed!

I actually thought this season they may have been setting up Ray Stevenson’s character as being the downfall of Dexter. However that seems unlikely at this stage. That story of his relative in jail waiting made me think… ah cut to Dexter as an old man. Ray Stevenson getting out of jail and seeking revenge. Doesn’t really fit though now. We shall see.

Maybe someone else. Dexter gets away with it, lives a long life but it catches up to it.

Maybe Harrison applies the code and kills Dexter!
    lol

  2. OMG – alright!! Although I was a bit miffed when this promo started playing right at the end of the last episode … but now I can’t wait.

And “surprise mother#$$%” … thats a Doakes line – one of the things I’m loving about this season – all the references and connections to the early days.

  3. I have to admit, this season of Dexter has been great. Seasons 5 and 6 almost made me give up on the show completely, but now they have an end date, they have been able to progress the story to the viewers benefit
