After more than 7000 shows and 20 years, the original Wiggles team bid farewell in Sydney yesterday.
Three of the original members Greg Page (Yellow, 40), Jeff Fatt (Purple, 59), Murray Cook (Red, 52) joined remaining member Anthony Field (Blue, 49) at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Although Greg Page previously departed due to health, but returned after the firing of Sam Moran earlier this year, the kid’s troupe has enjoyed international success – named as Business Review Weekly’s top-earning Australian entertainers for four years in a row.
Field described his fellow members as the “best mates anyone could ever wish for”.
“We’ve had the most amazing time for the last 21 years,” he said.
“I’m going to miss them so much. It won’t be the same without them. Everybody’s going to miss them.”
The finale was also the soft launch for Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce, who will join Field in a new-look line-up.
More than 50,000 people also watched their final TV performance at Seven’s Carols in the Domain.

I suppose it’s too much to hope they’ll drop that silly finger-waggling they do, all the time! Talk about overkill.
They should have kept Sam Moran as a reserve and could have had him come back now with two new Wiggles and later replace new team members as required. I fear the new team just won’t work.
…….I don’t…….
Jeff is 59? o.O
(btw, if they don’t do anything for you, don’t watch them or go see them. Sheesh)
Wiggles? Never did nothing for me…about time I say….
Even though I’m going to miss them, they are getting old, with most of them in the 40s and 50s. They thought that it was time to get some young blood.
the Wiggles won’t be the same anymore. Sad to see 3 of them go.
