Golden Globe Awards 2013: nominees

HBO telemovie Game Change and Showtime's Homeland lead the TV nominees at the 70th Golden Globes.

Homeland, Downton Abbey, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad and The Newsroom will battle for the Drama award at the  70th Annual Golden Globe Awards next month.

Actors Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms announced the nominations at the Beverly Hilton Hotel earlier this morning.

HBO telemovie Game Change topped the TV Nominees with 5 nods while Showtime’s Homeland has 4.

Australian nominees include Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. All were film related nominations, although Kidman is also nominated for her telemovie role.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Jodie Foster will receive the Cecil B. De Mille Award, honoring a lifetime achievement.

Arena will broadcast the event, starting with red carpet coverage from 11am, Monday January 14, followed by the awards Live at 12 noon AEDT.

  1. It’s the Hollywood Foreign Press Association who have no credibility. It’s something like 85 members.

    So don’t be too upset at the nominations and who wins.

  2. Wow no John Slattery from Mad Men for best Supporting actor? what a joke. the mid-life crisis stuff for Rodger Sterling was some of the best stuff Mad Men ever did with some character other than Don.

    and How did Mad Men get a snub from best Drama?

    on a side note AMC have the Best Actor in Drama locked up with Cranston and Hamm nominated. it will be a sock if Cranston gets beaten.

    When Modern Family and Big Bang Theroy beat out Louie for a nomination for best comedy i lose more faith in humanity.

    @Nate AHS counts as a mini series because its a new topic/story every year, its just under the same show name

  3. I never understand some of the nomination practices for these award shows. How for example is Jessica Lange eligible for Best Actress in a TV Movie/Mini-Series for American Horror Story: Asylum when it is neither a TV Movie or a Mini-series?
