Hey Dad! star in court appearance

Former Hey Dad! star Robert Hughes yesterday appeared in Downing Centre Local Court facing 11 charges child sex offences between 1984 and 1990.

The charges include two counts of raping a 14-year-old girl and four counts of indecently assaulting a six-year-old girl. He has previously indicated he will fight the charges.

Hughes did not speak during the brief court appearance, which follows his extradition from Britain in December.

The matter was adjourned until March 5.
