  1. Do what we did, cancelled our sub , then six months later after continual calls(from Foxtel) to sign up again got HD IQ2 Platinum package for $100 a month and no contract, yes they gouge their existing , long term customers , won;t budge when you call them for better deals, yet they will offer anything to get new or old customers to sign up.

  2. So subs up 1.7% and revenue up 7% – basically new sign ups have slowed, so they are gouging their existing subs. I can’t see this being a good long term strategy.

  3. That isn’t profit, it is revenue and EBITA.

Interesting, all the media reports have been that the tough economic climate has resulted in a drop in subscribers, and a drop in expensive premium packages. Guess that bottom out in first half of 2012.

  4. Rediculous that they increase the price even though they are making so much profit. Not to mention, 1.7% increase in subscribers is humiliating, and an increased price isn’t going to help them increase their penetration. Foxtel are too focused on their profit and not enough on their subscribers. Offering all channels, with a HD STB, should be a maximum of $110 ($40 starter, $20 entertainment extra, $20 sports, $20 movies, and $10 HD STB), which would definitely be more appealing to new customers than over $130. But as long as they are the sole STV provider in Australia, I can’t see that happening.

  5. … yet prices have gone up…….
