Pomeranz & Stratton not ready to fade just yet

At the Movies hosts commit to working together for 2013 and 2014.

Margaret Pomeranz and David StrattonGood news for fans of At the Movies, with Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton confirming their intention to keep working.

“We’ll definitely see this year out,” Pomeranz tells Fairfax.

Stratton says, ”this year and next year,” but then adds they may consider working up to the 30th anniversary of the show.

We may just hold them to those statements now…

Stratton also hopes that no matter how long they decide to remain on television, one day their At the Movies format will eventually provide a vehicle for some emerging young talent.

”I really hope the ABC will keep the formula in the post-David and Margaret era, whenever that might be,” Stratton says. ”I’m not saying that’s going to happen this year or next year, but when we do decide enough is enough, I do hope they keep the program going because there are lots of very bright, young film reviewers out there.

They return to TV this week at the new time of 9:30pm Tuesdays on ABC1.

  1. Ditto Sydney2K. I think Margaret and David should stay where they are for as long as they can. They are the original and the best-hands down. I hope there is never a post David and Margaret era. Long may they reign.

  2. Good I’m glad they will still be on air. I hope the ABC does keep the format when they choose to retire. Thank you so much Margaret and David for all the films you’ve reviewed as well as people interviewed.
