Ellen lands in Melbourne

Ellen Degeneres has landed in Melbourne after her whirlwind, love-affair with Sydney on the weekend (yes we use all the clichés here).

But waiting fans missed out on meeting her after she waved and blew kisses to them from the tarmac between her Ellen-branded Qantas plane and a convoy of cars.

The US talk show host has a public show at Birrarung Marr at 11am tomorrow, followed by a VIP invite-only cocktail party at the Grand Hyatt on Tuesday night.

The city has turned on a pleasant 26C degrees for today and a warm 32C for tomorrow.

While there is speculation about a visit to the Philip Island Penguin Parade, a scheduled visit to Geelong is now off the cards due to the altered itinerary.
