Returning: Offspring

Season 4 of Offspring will replace Mr and Mrs Murder in late May, with two new cast members.

2013-05-01_1336TEN has confirmed the return date for the fourth season of Offspring.

As expected this will air Wednesday, May 22, at 8.30pm, taking the place of Mr & Mrs Murder.

Joining the cast are NZ Caren Pistorius (Paper Giants: Magazine Wars) and Ido Drent (Shortland Street).

It’s good to see TEN declaring its hand early on this and sticking to Aussie drama in a consistent timeslot.

Starring 2013 TV Week Gold Logie winner, Asher Keddie, and an ensemble of the country’s finest performers, Offspring’s fourth season promises to deliver more of what has made the show a firm favourite with viewers.

As the season begins, Nina (Asher Keddie) is 12 weeks pregnant to partner, anesthetist Patrick Reid (Matthew Le Nevez). Having recovered from the initial shock of their surprise pregnancy, Nina embarks on a mission to perfect all areas of her life before the baby arrives.

But Nina’s desire for perfection is quickly disrupted by complications at work, and the bedlam created by the ever-expanding Proudman family.

Network TEN Drama Executive, Claire Tonkin, said: “With laughs, tears, romance, surprises and some spectacularly awkward Proudman moments, Offspring’s cast and crew have created something really special this year. We can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

With all your favourite characters returning this year, TEN is also happy to announce the arrival of some new faces. New Zealand imports Caren Pistorius (Paper Giants: Magazine Wars) and Ido Drent (Shortland Street) are ready to make their mark this season.

Wednesday, May 22, at 8.30pm.

  1. @ carolemorrisey I would be very surprised if Mr and Mrs Murder got a second series. Very ordinary ratings overall, not helped by a poor lead in from Modern Family repeats.
