Next week we are celebrating National Volunteers Week. There are over six million people volunteering annually in Australia and each night we will profile some amazing volunteers and volunteer organisations who dedicate their time helping the communities we live in.

On Monday night, Offspring’s Eddie Perfect joins us at the desk to talk about the concert version of Shane Warne The Musical, also starring Lisa McCune (from TEN’s upcoming Reef Doctors) and Shane Jacobson.

Catherine McClements joins us on Tuesday night. Best known for her roles in Water Rats, Rush and Tangle, Catherine will be talking about her latest role in Bell Shakespeare’s latest production, Phèdre.

It’s Federal Budget Night on Wednesday so we will cross to Wayne Swan and Joe Hockey in Canberra ahead of the announcement. We will also speak to Jamie Oliver in London to talk about Food Revolution Day which aims to raise awareness about the importance of good food and food education.

Thursday we look at the hard facts behind the growing developmental disorder in the western world – autism. More than 10,000 Aussies kids aged between six and 12 have the disorder. We meet paediatric neurologist Dr. Maria Herbert who believes environment and genetics, the body and the brain, all play a role in how autism is expressed. We will also meet a woman who claims she recovered from autism through changing her diet and lifestyle.

Special guest host Mia Freedman helps us wrap up the week on Friday, when ARIA Award winner Anthony Callea joins us at the desk to talk about his upcoming tour and new album 30.

Weeknights at 6.30pm on TEN.

  1. Actually, it’s Federal Budget night on Tuesday night. So Wednesday night is very much after not ahead of the announcement. TEN can’t even get that right.
