New exec producer announced for World News Australia

SBS promotes Assignments Editor at World News Australia to the top job.

Andrew ClarkAndrew Clark has been appointed Executive Producer of World News Australia, replacing Jim Carroll who becomes Director of News and Current Affairs from July 1.

Clark has been Assignments Editor at World News Australia for the past four and a half years, and also regularly acted in the Executive Producer role. His appointment follows a recruitment process at SBS.

Prior to SBS, he was Programme Editor for Aljazeera in Kuala Lumpur and held a number of senior editorial positions during his 12 years at the BBC.

Carroll said: “Andrew has been a key leader of the World News Australia team and won wide respect across the organisation for his editorial skills and knowledge, and collaborative and inclusive leadership style.

“We are delighted that Andrew has accepted the important role of Executive Producer and are sure he will continue to build on the esteemed reputation of World News Australia and help us take full advantage of the exciting opportunities from the rapidly emerging delivery platforms.”

Clark said: “I am thrilled to take up this role. I want to drive the quality of the program and its content. I’m looking forward to building on the expertise of the great team of people we have here.”

Paul Cutler retires as Director of News and Current Affairs after eight years.
