No good news on Person of Interest

Some readers have been asking about unaired Person of Interest episodes on Nine....

2013-06-25_1352Some readers have been asking about unaired Person of Interest episodes on Nine so I have asked on your behalf.

It’s not good news I’m afraid.

A Nine spokesperson told me there were four episodes remaining -however I suspect that differs in various cities.

Nevertheless there are no upcoming dates to play outstanding eps.

Sorry guys. I may have to bring back the ol’ Missing in Action list. Haven’t run that one in years.

Maybe a bit of feedback here might motivate Nine to find a slot…

  1. Damn, didn’t realise they’d started replaying this on GEM. Got the DVDs instead. Possibly a good move given the stories in this thread…Is there anywhere where you can find out when a series is being repeated? I know David you have the new series in the ‘coming soon’ section, but knowing when ‘old’ shows are going to be repeated is useful to me as well.

    1. I don’t have Person of Interest in Coming Soon section because there is no date. Sorry I don’t generally file repeat info, it’s enough to file first-run shows. Most TV Guide sites have search functions. Foxtel’s app is one of the better ones and you now don’t need to be a subscriber.

  2. Like several people have said many states only had 1 episode left in season 2 and it was directly tied into the episode before it so I am not sure why they didn’t just show it as a double episode way back in April. Not happy at all!

  3. It’s been soo long since I watched a regular series on FTA… it’s funny after all this time to read Nine are still up to the same old tricks that drove me from watching any new series on their channel so many years…

  4. I’m so genuinely sorry for you folks who expected any better. Nine are displaying their usual disregard and disrespect for viewers but the other commercial channels (bar SBS) are guilty of this sort of thing – be it delays, timeslot changes or abandonment, with a depressing regularity. I must admit that like @Mr Squirrel, I too have long since, um, “er.. bought the DVDs” 😉
    I’m surprised more people don’t.

  5. I’ve seen Nine do this sort of thing time and time again and I still don’t really understand why they think it’s going to give them higher ratings (or why lots of people line up like ducks to watch the next US series on Nine only to see the same thing happen).

I gave up on Fringe and, er… bought the DVDs and I didn’t bother to wait and see if Nine could manage to find a slot for the final ep of PoI. They should have just shown the last two as a double-ep and pissed off less people.

Arrogant and unreliable. There is literally nothing that I am watching on Nine at the moment.

    PS. Thanks for asking, David.

  6. Nine has held back the final episodes because with the longer episodes of The Voice running till nearly 10pm didn’t need them and Major Crimes would rate as well on the back of The Voice late at night.

The unshown eps will either be shown on the end of the repeats or added to the next season. There is no point in trying to show a couple of new episode in amongst repeats.

While fans are waiting for the ending Nine is repeating the serieses because they are short of content and figure that some people will watch them again and some people who missed them (the ratings were low) will catch up on their viewing and they will get better numbers for the next seasons.

#5.1 of The Mentalist, Red Glass Bead, was a dreadful bottle episode and probably rated badly. So Nine may well abandon the repeats if they can find something better to show.

  7. Yes Glennc there are four episodes unaired in Tasmania. Nine started replaying POI on GEM from episode One a few weeks ago. I watched it for fun. It was shown along with episode two. It is extremely annoying when TV stations do this. There is no reason not to show the end of the season. No-one gains by holding it back for whenever. And yes, The Mentalist too please.
Oh and I saw an ad on GEM saying ‘Brand New Episodes of POI Tuesday 9-40pm’ I take it they mean brand new to GEM because they are repeats.

  8. wait there wasn’t remaining there is only one episode which was the season finale they played episode 21 and then they took it off and didn’t played the finale

  9. @cronker, Gem has been playing the show from the beginning for the past month. I finally got to see the ending of the episode that introduced Zoe last week.

Only one episode of season two left to show in Sydney. I knew Nine were going to screw us over when they didn’t show the finale and chose to premiere multi-channel fodder like Major Crimes instead. Best case scenario is for them to show it just before fast tracking season 3 in late September.

  10. It cracks me up that there are still people out there who watch international shows on FTA, especially on nine with there disgraceful programming and arrogant CEO.

  11. Id say we have 4 episodes left in Tasmania. Was that long ago that it was on, Ive forgotten which episode it was. It is too much to ask to play an entire series on one of your 3 channels? I don’t care which one. Oh, and finish The Mentalist too. Don’t care where.

  12. It returns on GEM tonight with Season 1 Episode 7 – Witness.
That still leaves 15 episodes to run out season 1.
I believe I saw a comment from someone at 9 saying that they were going to replay it on GEM from the start, for those who missed it first time around, and as part of their crime Tuesday special line up.
Ummm, how is starting it at episode 7 “from the start”?

  13. Hey

I would like to add to my comment. Doing a little bit of research shows why Nine has not used that Sunday 9:30pm slot for new episodes of anything. CSI recently would up its season but only in Sydney and Brisbane. Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth viewers were running behind with CSI but all three states will run the season finale of CSI this coming Sunday (June 30th). From this date all states are back up to date. So was useless the last couple of weeks to run new POI of TM at 9:30 Sundays when only certain states could air. From July 7th the 9:30pm slot becomes totally free for all states so we might see something air then. In saying that, it is also the same night for the House Husbands finale so Nine might be looking further ahead as to what might air in that slot.

  14. Thanks for asking for us David. Very frustrating to hear that. The thing that gets me, they have been showing the latest season on Monday nights at 9.30. I caught the start after Major Crimes the other week, and it had only aired a few weeks ago. Don’t see the point of that when they only had a few eps to go till the finale.

The Mentalist is the same, only 2 eps left of that till the finale.

  15. Hey

Where does it end? There is also two episodes of The Mentalist to run. They also pulled new Two and a Half Men before it ended it season. Hotel Hell started and then never was seen again. Yet on Sunday nights CSI did end its current season and yet rather than use the 9:30pm slot for The Mentalist or Person of Interest or Hotel Hell or Two and a Half Men – they end up running repeats. Makes no sense.

  16. Safe to say that if nine think fans are going to sit around and wait (particularly when the only ep outstanding in some areas is the finale), they would be wrong…. Back to their old “we don’t actually care about our viewers” behaviours.

  17. I have commented multiple times on the Nine Facebook page but as the page is run by Ninemsn it is no wonder that there was no reply (yet another issue with Nine having a subsidiary run a key resource instead of someone related to the programming team). I am still to see the last episode, with the second last ending on a giant cliffhanger only to be followed by a repeat. It’s no wonder piracy is so big. Resident in Griffith/M.I.A., NSW
