Next guests on The Project include Hamish Macdonald, Bondi Rescue’s Maxi and Jesse, Armie Hammer, Myf Warhurst, Steve Carrell and two male pole dancers.

On Monday night we chat to Hamish Macdonald about his new documentary series, The Truth Is?, which explores the worlds of war, politics and pop culture. We also look into “unschooling”, a radical form of home schooling in which children are allowed to direct their own learning.

On Tuesday we meet accomplished Sydney dancers David Aeon and Matty Shields as they prepare for the International Male Pole Dancing Championships. Also, Bondi Rescue boys Maxi and Jesse share with us a dark side to their glamorous jobs. These two young lifeguards have seen too many people lose their lives at The Gap, infamous as a suicide spot, so they are taking to the ocean for a gruelling 2,500 km ride on jetskis to raise the profile of mental health charity Headspace.

On Wednesday, we join Tommy Little in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, where locals are taking pest control into their own hands to deal with the growing cane toad epidemic. Armie Hammer chats to us about his starring role beside Johnny Depp in Gore Verbinski’s Lone Ranger and Lehmo channels his inner accountant to give us some tips before tax time.

We meet Nick and Dee Andjelic on Thursday who share their personal family struggle. After 27 rounds of IVF treatments, Dee gave birth to beautiful twin girls, but four years later tragedy struck when one of the twins, Emily, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Throughout this time, the Andjelics relied on the children’s cancer support charity, Red Kite, to help them through. Myf Warhurst joins the stars of one of Hollywood’s most successful film franchises, The Fast and the Furious, to talk pedal to the metal and Fast & Furious 6. 

The Triple J Hottest 100 countdown is about to turn 21 so we wrap up the week on Friday with Zan Rowe, Bernard Fanning and Bertie Blackman to reflect on the music of the past two decades. Plus, Steve Carrell joins us to promote his latest movie Despicable Me 2.
