Written and executive produced by Chris Mundy (Criminal Minds, Cold Case). Low Winter Sun is a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred.

Low Winter Sun begins with the murder of a cop by a fellow Detroit detective. Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality, the murder activates forces that will forever alter the detective’s life and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld.

The series is based on the 2006 award-winning British two-part mini-series and stars Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; Zero Dark Thirty) as Detroit detective Frank Agnew alongside co-star Lennie James (Hung, The Walking Dead, Jericho).

8:30pm Tuesday August 13 on FX.

  1. Once again FX shows they are the best entertainment channel when it comes to fast tracking, airing it within 24 hours (if my math is right). Too bad they only seem to do it for the big name cable series’ (e.g. Franklin & Bash season 3 has already had 4 episodes air in the U.S., and FX promised that it would fast track the season last year when they aired the first two seasons but have now said “every shows contracts are different, we are still discussing with the U.S. distributors a local premiere date” which they should have known in advance).
