It’s just a tad ironic that Gap Year Asia is rating through the roof yet twentysomething is overlooked by so many Hamish Blake fans on ABC2. Why?
Here’s what’s on this week’s episode.
When Josh (Josh Schmidt) sees Jess (Jess Harris) creeping out of their gorgeous housemate Dan’s (Luke Wallace) bedroom early one morning, he immediately assumes she has slept with him. Disappointed, jealous and feeling bad for Billy (Hamish Blake), Josh decides to inform Billy of Jess’s unfaithful slip. Jess, wrongfully accused, sets up a courtroom in their living room, with Billy as the judge and Dan and Abby (Leah de Niese) on the stand, defending Jess’s honour in a gripping and convincing court case.
While Jess’s name is cleared, Billy takes matters into his own hands, sentencing Jess and Josh’s friendship to community service to mend the obvious underlying issues of trust. They find themselves volunteering at a local nursing home, where they inject their fun and energy, organising a 50s style dance party for the patrons called the ‘Final Fling’.
8:30pm Thursday ABC2.

Wish me luck.
Because most HB fans wouldn’t know the ABC existed, let alone ABC2.
Plus it would be too complex for most of them.
Light the blue touchpaper, and retire to safe distance.
Jess Harris deserves to be every bit as acclaimed as Lena Dunham.
Love this show.
I really want to like this show, I really do, but it just feels like it’s trying too hard. And Josh Schmidt really struggles, I find his character very unappealing.
I love this show! I find it laugh-out-loud hilarious. Jess is a bit of an annoying character but that’s part of the fun. Josh is a great sidekick. Good to see something like this on TV, especially for a second season.
I tried watching this but after a couple of eps I found Jess Harris’ character completely unbearable. Just wasn’t for me.
I love Twentysomething.
I think Jess Harris is a star of the future – if not now. Very entertaining show that she directs, writes and stars in. Hamish is only a small bit player.
Ironic because twentysomething is good while Gap Year is rubbish.
