Renewed: Scott & Bailey

Season 3 resumes on ABC1 next week and Season 4 is already approved.

2013-08-30_1112UK drama series Scott & Bailey was recently renewed for a fourth season.

The ITV drama, which resumes on ABC1 next week, stars Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp as two Detective Constables who have been assigned to the Major Incident Team within the Manchester metropolitan police force.

The renewal comes after Scott & Bailey became one of ITV’s most successful drama series with the season 3 finale pulling in an average audience of 7.1 million viewers and a 27% audience share.

“We’re thrilled to be producing a new series of Scott and Bailey,” said producer Nicola Shindler, who co-produces with Sally Wainwright. “It’s rewarding to think the public have become so familiar with the characters and taken them to heart. With this new series, we have the chance to explore great story ideas and continue developing those characters.”

“ITV Drama without Scott and Bailey would be unthinkable,” said ITV’s Director of Drama Steve November. “Its reputation for quality storytelling and great characterisation precedes it and it’s become a firm favourite with ITV viewers. We’re delighted to be working with Nicola, Sally  and Red Production Company on a fourth series.”

  1. This is a very good watchable series. Maybe Australian execs could give female writers, directors, producers and lead actors a bit more of a fair go.
