SBS weekly football program The World Game returns to SBS ONE next week.

It’s back next Monday night on SBS ONE but will no longer premiere on SBS 2.

Hosted by Les Murray with SBS Chief Football Analyst Craig Foster, The World Game will feature highlights from the world’s biggest football leagues, including the English Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga. It will also include interviews from some of the world’s top players.

The first episode on Monday 12 August will feature an exclusive interview with Sydney FC star Alessandro Del Piero in Italy. SBS Football Analyst David Zdrilic joins the world cup winner in Italy and will ask about the Sydney FC tour of Italy and the upcoming A-League season.

Monday 12 August at 11:00pm on SBS ONE.

  1. @dwuuuu . Completely agree. I also think that a A League rap up show should help put it on Sunday nights at 7pm for a half hour, similar to the Final Siren which aired on ONE when TEN had the AFL. Then the World Game on Monday nights maybe not so late at 11 maybe just before the late News on SBS 1.

  2. They should be putting this back-to-back with the A-league highlights show, wherever that will fit into the schedule. Maybe 10pm on Monday nights?

  3. it’s good to have the show back after their mid-year break. I miss my soccer (”football”) fix.

    I’m not surprised that it is no longer airing on sbs2 first (and replaying it on sbs1). It wasn’t rating at all on sbs2, and also with that stations recent revamp.
