The Late List: September results

It's now been a year since launching the TV Tonight Late List. But the late starts have only gotten worse, not better.

  1. Re: Multi-channels. When 7 or 9 start a show 20 minutes late is the schedule on their respective multi-channels also generally running late or are they better at keeping to time?

  2. We keep getting told about Australia being the biggest torrent downloader’s. Just look at the times and you see why. It’s disgusting, and the networks are pathetic. Adv time 9.19 and it starts at 9.42!!!! Seven’s “fast tracking” of Blacklist more than a week after it’s airing and then expecting people to wait 16 mins for it to eventually start. I don’t put up with it, i’m suprised 1.3m viewers did. The show deserves those ratings, Seven doesn’t. In the US it’s a big deal when a show runs a single minute late and they include it in ratings indicating 9pm-10.01pm

  3. This is just a wonderful example of the absolute contempt that the commercial FTA networks treat their viewers. If their work practices were that bad in any other industry, they would be out of business. I’d love to hear a response from 7, 9 or 10, but I won’t hold my breath.

  4. @Sam G – I hate when that happens, a couple of times I have even been caught with something starting at say 8:25pm. I have my DVR set to start at say 8:28pm thinking it’ll run late so I’ll tack more time on the end than the start and bam I got caught (still do the 2 minutes before starting time thing though as it is rare).
