X Factor powering home for Seven

2013-10-15_1007The X Factor is powering home in its final weeks for Seven following concern that audience favourite Dami Im was at risk of being eliminated.

Dami was safe as judges tied over Jordan Tiolli and Third Degree with the former being sent home. Seven pulled 1.64m viewers for the show which, combined with The Blacklist on 1.3m viewers, gave Seven another ratings win.

  1. I agree with alvar that Homeland is rating what it deserves, I posted in another thread last week that it has been awful this season. So much focus on Dana being suicidal and retreading the ‘Carrie is bipolar in a psych ward’ storyline. Haven’t seen the new episode with Brody yet but I’m not holding out much hope

Caught the Walking Dead’s new season premiere and it was okay, better than Homeland’s but still not amazing. Also the Blacklist is losing me episode 3 was all over the place

  2. @Pertinax – That is the problem with our M rating times, in the US Sleepy Hollow is on at 9pm/8pm Central time (it follows Bones at 8pm/7pm C), yet here it is not allowed to be shown until 8:30pm. Kind of silly that they can show it at 8pm in the US in those Central States and we can’t.

That is why I really hope that the Networks win their asking of the M rating to be allowed from 7:30pm onwards, even NCIS is on at 8pm/7pm Central time over there.

  3. Why is Ten holding back on NCIS especially when they have already fast tracked NCIS: LA a sister show. Too bad when storylines overlap (maybe to accommodate the new spin off) & Ten is showing the shows at different times.
Once again Ten has no clue whatsoever keeping their highest rating drama off the air.

  4. @alvar – totally agree. We’re a quarter of the way through the season and nothing has happened yet.

It’s still enjoyable viewing, but it definitely lacks the pace and thrill of the first season.

  5. Due to Sleepy Hollow being on Fox in the US it is taking a break because of Fox having the Baseball and the finals are happening. First with the NLCS and ALCS Playoffs that started Friday and then the World Series just after those.

  6. Sad to say that Homeland is no longer the edge of your seat drama that it once was. No doubt Ten’s damaged brand hasn’t helped, but those ratings are what it deserves.

  7. @pete
Sleepy Hollow is rated M for horror and guns so can’t be shown before 8:30pm.

SH is on a production break for a few weeks. Normally Ten would just move it to Eleven but they don’t have much content. They could move it to 9:30pm. If they gave up on the Fast Tracking they could show it over non-ratings when NCIS isn’t on.

They have spent 12 months reestablishing NCIS on 8:30pm Tuesday so it and Under The Dome must be given priority for that slot.

  8. What an optimist you are MM. Next year the Ten Network will have been around for 50 years and during those 50 years there has only been one occasion when they actually won a week to my knowledge.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the big turn around.

  9. Ten, your results are a joke …… obviously the rot starts at the Simpsons and works it’s way down in the evenings …..

It’s only a matter of time that the shareholders will ask you to go …. Hamish Mclennan, you are to blame for rolling out this tripe out that you call entertainment …. the results are almost the same as last year if not worse ………. You should resign …….

  10. Think things will turn around for 10 soon if they can hang in there, a few years ago it was 9 that dominated, and for the last few years 7 has had the reins so hopefully its 10 turn next unless ABC pull out a few more stops and beat them to the finish.

  11. @Pete……ch10 are finished, expect yet another call on shareholders for even more cash over the next few months to keep the channel afloat. If they are bleeding viewers, rest assured the advertising dollars are also washing away. The 3 things that definitely work for fta comm chs are ‘reality’, sports rights & domestic drama that connects with viewers. All US stuff can be viewed by other means, especially so if it is compelling tv and there is a delay in showing it. Not much hope at the moment for ch10 in this landscape….

  12. oh man the season opener for the new season was hilarious shame the ratings wasn’t that high but ten for god sakes get homeland out of monday nights & put it on a better night

  13. I think A League of their Own finishes next week ?? If so, maybe that is where Sleepy Hollow will reside until the end of the ratings year. The powerhouse finals of X Factor and Big Brother will still ensure everything fails that Ten puts in the primetime slots on Mondays. And then predictably next year, they will be trounced by The Block and My Kitchen Rules. Just hang in there, Ten – this reliance on reality TV cannot last forever…..or can it.

  14. A big win to Sunrise. Would be interested to know if Sunrise has picked up much ground in Sydney and Melbourne or are they only winning with the big margin in Perth and Adelaide.
