Matt Passmore cast in new US drama pilot

After 4 seasons of The Glades, Aussie actor has another US drama project.

2013-11-02_0026Australian Matt Passmore has won a lead role in a new untitled drama project for the USA Network.

Passmore recently finished on The Glades after four successful seasons for A&E Network.

Hollywood Reporter notes he will play investment banker Neil Truman in a new drama by Sean Jablonski (Suits).

In the drama, Neil and his wife, Grace, try to sift through their stagnant relationship looking for what they once had. But when Neil discovers that Grace is seeing a male escort and accidentally comes into possession of the escort’s phone, he gains a unique perspective on his life and what motivates women.

Meanwhile, Grace contemplates whether her needs are being met and whether her marriage is worth saving.

In Australia Passmore appeared on McLeod’s Daughter, Underbelly, The Cut, Always Greener and Blue Heelers.

  1. Suits was originally pitched as being about a boy wonder merchant banker, but after Lemans was reworked as a corporate legal drama. (its bit more of stretch get to way with practicing law without a degree).

    This is a pilot based around the failing marriage of a merchant banker.

    Jablonski has worked on many shows and is an experienced showrunner – but this is first show.
    Suits is Korsh’s show. Since he had no show running or EP experience they contracted Jablonski to run the first season, but he only got two writing credits officially.

    Korsh then took over but Jablonski was brought back as an official EP halfway through S2. Rumoured to be because Korsh doesn’t like getting bogged down in the nuts and bolts.
