Video: Miley Cyrus is again attracting comment, for apparently lighting up a joint at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam.

Miley Cyrus is again attracting comment for another appearance at MTV Awards, this time apparently lighting up a joint at the EMAs in Amsterdam.
Whilst receiving a Best Video award for Wrecking Ball she told the crowd, “I couldn’t fit this award in my bag, but I did find this.”
Marijuana is not legal in the Netherlands, but smokers can’t be prosecuted for possessing small amounts.

It was a joke about America’s attitudes and how they are different from Amsterdams. All staged and with tobacco no doubt.
I don’t like her but if there’s a stage to act up on, then it should definitely be a music awards show. There isn’t enough of it these days
I guess she’s realised she won’t survive on talent alone, so is going for shock value. Like that doesn’t get so tired so fast.
@jay – it was in Amsterdam where it is legally ‘tolerated’ to possess up to 5 grams of marijuana in a public place (this is much less than 1 joint’s worth).
That said, I really don’t get why Miley thought this would be cool, it came off looking so staged and ‘try hard’. So unnecessary, I usually support Miley, I think she’s extremely talented but she’s got to stop thinking of herself as a headline.
We get it, you’re not Hannah Montana anymore.
Retaining one’s dignity is the true path to rebellion. It seems Miss Cyrus would rather be as cheap as the rest of them.
It doesn’t take much to stir the righteous majority these days. C’mon people! She’s not even trying! Shades of the 1950s here.
She is trying too hard to shed that Disney image. She could be arrested for it if it was marijuana!
