Cricket a winner for Nine, TEN.

Ratings: Big Bash helps put TEN ahead of the ABC, but the week goes to Nine -also thanks to Cricket.

2013-12-22_1558The non-ratings week was a  victory for TEN.

It moved ahead of the ABC, not just in network shares which it did 2 weeks ago, but in primary shares. It also defeated the ABC on every night except Tuesday, in which it managed a Tie.

The results come after just two nights of the T20 Big Bash League, certainly an encouraging sign.

Cricket also drove Nine to another win, as high as 1.7m for last Sunday night. That helped them to seal another ratings week over Seven.

  1. Ten have upped their ratings from 500k to 700+k on Friday and Saturday nights over Christmas when there is nothing else on.

They won’t make money from that at $20m. They will be hoping that it flows on the higher ratings later in the year. And they nearly doubled the amount Nine had to spend to the keep the rest of the cricket, which leaves Nine with less money for other content.
