Oops. What’s in a name on TEN News?
This probably isn't the best look when your new News boss is just starting.

Ah.. this only had to get past two people in an automated control room. (Two people on overdrive, doing the jobs of many more, working like a sideshow jugging act on show day). Expect more things like this as it permeates other bulletins and standards slide inexorably and noticeably down. Even ordinary punters notice these blinders, so bad they become a conversation point.
The nightly laughs have been happening now at the ABC for almost 5 years – even they are a victim of this shortsighted cost “efficiency”…
Just another day at Ten …..
All too common now. Carelessness and a lack of professionalism seem to be widespread in TV these days.
They spelt “I Witless News” incorrectly, too.
Yes, this is the way of the future. Get used to it. As the stations go automated with their news the Director’s Assistants (among others) are no longer required. Expect spelling mistakes, blank supers, plenty of name surname supers and the like. Talent will be supered incorrectly, as will the grabs. We’ve already seen plenty of full frame graphics and information on the ticker which is incorrect. It won’t get any better when you lose the one person in the process who cares about spelling and getting it right.
Actually @Jason, Ten’s 5 o’clock news is automated. The DA would normally check titles etc before they go out, but there is no longer a DA in the room. Only a TD and a director. The news producer is the one that types the names into the template. It’s their fault.
Monday night, first story, TEN Sydney had caption “Mrs XX, Mother” over pics of Police Officer. A minute later when the “mother” did appear…yes…the caption was “Sgt XX, NSW Police”.
Does no one actually look at anything before putting it to air these days? Obviously not.
How many DAs, ADAs, AADAs, EPs, AEPs, Ps and Ds, etc., are there in the control room and still no one watches.
This happened almost on a nightly basis over summer.
Name Sirname is my favourite! He’s the best Title in the Business!
At least they spelled the words name and surname correctly. That’s better than channel. 9
Reminds me of the story they did a few weeks back about the heat wave and record temperatures illustrated with a weather map of NSW showing the temp for every location as 00.
Classic!
Also, he looks a bit like Michael Rowland.
