2014-03-05_0058A new tongue-in-cheek cooking / interview show begins tonight on Channel 31 Melbourne, Community Kitchen.

Produced by Shane Dunlop, who made the comedy series Leongatha, the series is hosted Laura Davis and chats to special guests in the kitchens of various Melbourne venues.

As Dunlop explains, “Episode 1, was filmed at The Builders Arms in Fitzroy with John Safran, Episode 2 was filmed inside The Lucky Coq, featured Ronny Chieng. The special guests are interviewed whilst taking us through, step by step, either their go-to meal (grilled cheese on toast) or an ambitious attempt at a fancier meal.

“So in essence, it’s a tongue in cheek cooking/interview show featuring well known or up and coming comedians doing a very bad job of cooking something in some of Melbourne’s best & brightest restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés. Guests are waxing lyrical on love, death, politics, comedy, or their favourite childhood breakfast cereals.

“We also feature a musical guest each week, including Al Parkinson, Ma Petite, Eaten By Dogs, Little Dreamer, Tall Buildings, Ryan Sterling, Emilee South, Maeflower amongst others.”

8:30pm Wednesday on C31.
